Functional Medicine for Brain Health in Dallas

Book a 15 min call

Free, 15 minutes. Ask whether this is the right lane for your findings.

MindForge Functional Medicine is lab-guided clinical care for the body systems your brain depends on — metabolism, sleep, hormones, the gut-brain axis — delivered inside a brain center, in service of measurable neurological recovery. It's available integrated into MindForge programs or as its own course of care, and it starts with a 15-minute call or (214) 730-6463.

MindForge doesn't bill insurance — by design. Direct-pay is what makes an individualized, intensive program possible rather than care shaped by billing codes. HSA/FSA and financing options exist, and a written Good Faith Estimate precedes any commitment.

How it works here

Assessment first: comprehensive laboratory panels chosen clinically (inflammatory, metabolic, nutrient, hormonal markers as your history indicates), interpreted by the clinical team alongside your neurological data — one picture, one plan. Interventions follow findings: targeted nutrition, sleep architecture work, supplementation only where labs support it, and coordination with your physicians where findings belong in their lane. The methodology and boundaries live on our approach; the structured program built on this service — MindForge Neurometabolic Optimization (advanced lab work & metabolic care) — is described on its program page.

The concerns we work with

Brain fog

The slowed, effortful thinking that makes ordinary work feel like wading — common after illness (notably long COVID), after concussion, and alongside metabolic and sleep dysfunction. Fog is a symptom with findable drivers: inflammatory load, glucose regulation, thyroid function, sleep debt, nutrient status. Our workup measures the usual suspects and pairs anything trainable with cognitive work from the neurological side of the house. If your fog began with an infection or a head injury, start at the condition page — the evaluation integrates both.

Sleep

Nothing in neurological recovery works well against a broken sleep foundation — consolidation of therapy gains literally happens overnight. We assess sleep architecture drivers (habits and environment, circadian factors, hormonal and metabolic contributors) and build a structured plan; where findings suggest a sleep disorder needing a specialist — apnea above all — we route to sleep medicine and coordinate care.

Hormones & the HPA axis

The stress-hormone system and thyroid function set the operating conditions for the brain. Sustained stress physiology, thyroid dysfunction, and perimenopausal transitions all wear neurological faces — fatigue, fog, mood, sleep disruption. We test rather than guess, treat what's ours to treat, and refer endocrine disease where it belongs.

The gut-brain axis

The gut and brain talk constantly — through the vagus nerve, the immune system, and what digestion delivers or doesn't. GI distress, food-pattern reactivity, and nutrient malabsorption show up neurologically. Our workup covers the measurable ground (inflammatory and nutrient markers, targeted GI assessment), and our interventions stay evidence-informed and food-first — no detox theater, no supplement stacks without lab justification.

Post-concussion metabolic recovery

Concussion is metabolically expensive: the injured brain's energy economics shift, and inflammation, sleep disruption, and stress physiology can hold recovery back long after the structural all-clear. For post-concussion syndrome patients, the FM thread runs alongside neurorehabilitation — same weeks, same plan — addressing the terrain the training happens on.

POTS & dysautonomia support

Autonomic conditions are whole-body conditions: blood volume and hydration status, electrolytes, deconditioning physiology, and frequently co-traveling GI symptoms. The FM workup for POTS patients supports the reconditioning program — fueling it, hydrating it, and removing the metabolic sand from the gears.

What this is not

Not integrative-anything, not a supplement storefront, not a replacement for your PCP, endocrinologist, or gastroenterologist. Labs are chosen because a decision depends on them; recommendations trace to findings; specialist-lane findings get referred with documentation. Functional medicine here means one thing: the brain's support systems, measured and managed in service of neurological outcomes.

How to start

Two doors. Inside a program: most MindForge patients meet FM as a thread of their [Condition] Intensive — selected at the Discovery Day. On its own: for the concerns above without a neurological program, the structured path is MindForge Neurometabolic Optimization — start with a free 15-minute call.

Prefer to start without a call? Send your records — a clinician reviews what you already have and tells you what they see, for a fixed review fee shared up front.

Common questions

No — it's available as its own course of care through the Neurometabolic Optimization program. Most patients, though, meet it inside a broader program, where it supports neurological recovery directly.

The ones your history justifies — inflammatory, metabolic, nutrient, and hormonal panels chosen clinically, not maximally. Testing without a decision it informs is expense, not care.

Recommendations follow lab findings, and we're indifferent to where you fill them. No proprietary stacks, no revenue-driven protocols.

MindForge is direct-pay; superbills are provided and HSA/FSA funds typically apply — ways to pay.
