Functional medicine, engineered for your whole system.
MindForge Functional Medicine exists for one reason: the brain doesn't recover in isolation. It runs on what the rest of the body provides — fuel, oxygen delivery, hormonal signaling, immune calm — and when those inputs are off, neurological rehabilitation fights uphill. So we built functional medicine into MindForge, in service of the brain, rather than leaving it across town.
What it is here — and what it isn't
Here, functional medicine means: systematic laboratory and clinical assessment of the metabolic, autonomic, hormonal, and gut-brain factors that bear on neurological function — interpreted by the same clinical team running your neurological program, feeding the same plan. One evaluation. One plan.
What it isn't: a supplement storefront, a detox anything, or an alternative to your physicians. It's a clinical discipline practiced inside a measured program, coordinated with your existing doctors — and when findings belong with a specialist, we route them there.
How it connects to your recovery
A concussion patient whose sleep and inflammatory markers are wrecked recovers differently than one whose aren't. A POTS patient's exercise response is inseparable from hydration, blood-volume, and hormonal status. The dizzy patient with unaddressed metabolic problems plateaus early. This is why the Discovery Day can include metabolic and autonomic assessment alongside the neurological battery when your history indicates it — and why your program can carry a functional-medicine thread through the same weeks as your neurotherapy.
Two ways it shows up
- Inside your program — integrated into a [Condition] Intensive when your evaluation says the brain's support systems need work too.
- As its own course of care — for concerns like persistent brain fog, sleep, energy, and post-illness recovery, functional-medicine care is available in its own right; the full service page — including the specific concerns we address — is at MindForge Functional Medicine services, and the structured program built on it is Neurometabolic Optimization.
Where we stop
Lab panels are chosen clinically, not maximally — testing without a decision it informs is expense, not care. Supplements and interventions are recommended only where findings support them. And nothing here replaces primary care, endocrinology, or gastroenterology: we coordinate, document, and route.
How to start
The same front door as everything at MindForge: a free 15-minute call, then the MindForge Discovery Day — comprehensive neurological evaluation + report of findings + care plan.
