MindForge doesn't bill insurance — by design. Direct-pay is what makes an individualized, intensive program possible rather than care shaped by billing codes. HSA/FSA and financing options exist, and a written Good Faith Estimate precedes any commitment.
Why an entire day
Most of the people who come to MindForge have already had the seven-minute version of this: a quick exam, a normal MRI, a shrug. The problem was never that nothing is wrong — it's that the systems involved (vestibular, oculomotor, autonomic, metabolic, cognitive) don't show themselves in a quick look or a structural scan. They show themselves when you measure function, properly, with time to do it right. Eye movements alone are a working example: their speed, their accuracy, and their timing each read out different circuits — brainstem, cerebellum, cortex — which is why instrumented oculomotor testing can localize what a quick look cannot.
So we built the front door as a diagnostic day: enough time to run a real battery, examine you properly, review the results with you while you're still in the building, and plan from evidence instead of impressions.
What the day contains
Your Discovery Day is matched to your condition — a POTS evaluation and a post-concussion evaluation don't run the same battery — but the architecture is always the same:
- Quantified assessment battery. Objective measurement of the systems your history implicates: balance and posturography, VNG-class oculomotor testing, autonomic measures, cognitive testing, and validated symptom instruments — selected for your presentation, not a fixed menu.
- Hands-on clinical exam. A thorough neurological exam by the clinical team — the part of medicine that never should have been compressed to seven minutes.
- Your data, reviewed with you, live. This is the moment patients tell us matters most: seeing your own balance traces, eye-movement recordings, and autonomic numbers on the screen while a clinician explains what they mean. Not a portal PDF three weeks later — your nervous system, explained to your face.
- Same-day report of findings. What we found, what's driving your symptoms, and what we believe can be rebuilt — in plain language, with the data behind every statement.
- A conceptual care plan and your Good Faith Estimate. If we recommend a program, you'll see what it would contain, why, and exactly what it would cost — before you commit to anything.
- Care-continuum education and de-identified case examples. How Discovery → Intensive → Maintenance works, and what programs have looked like for presentations similar to yours.
It is an evaluation day, not a treatment session. You leave with data, not promises — and that's deliberate: we want your decision about a program made on findings, not on a one-day feeling.
What it costs — and what the day buys
Because that's what a full battery, a thorough exam, same-day interpretation by the clinical team, a written report of findings, and a costed care plan actually take to deliver. The fee is fixed — the same for everyone and every condition, shared plainly on your free 15-minute call — and it covers everything the day contains. And the findings do double duty: they localize which systems and pathways carry the dysfunction, which is exactly what makes a targeted — rather than generic — program possible.
The alternative most patients have lived: months of fragmented appointments, each measuring a fragment, none talking to the others, with the real cost hidden across a dozen bills. One day, one integrated picture, one fixed fee — that's the trade.

Who the day is for — and who it isn't
The Discovery Day is built for the conditions we treat: concussion and post-concussion syndrome, POTS and dysautonomia, vestibular disorders, brain injury and stroke recovery, and the rest of our condition families. And one standing promise: if your Discovery Day shows we're not the right place — the wrong diagnosis territory, a problem that needs a different specialist first, or findings we can't move — we say so, in the report of findings, and route you toward who can help. You keep the complete evaluation and every result. A clear "no, and here's where to go instead" is a real outcome; we treat it like one.

- Your Discovery Day is scheduled on that call — live, by a person, on the day that works for you (traveling patients are prioritized for Monday evaluations). The decision stays yours the whole way, and booking details are confirmed with you on the call.
- If a program follows, it typically begins within days — typically 3–5 clinical hours a day across 5–10 treatment days (weekends off), built from your results, with your Good Faith Estimate already in hand.
